Labels

Two artist-run labels reflecting different chapters of Alexander Kowalski’s work: Cycles Music and Damage Music Berlin.

Cycles Music

Cycles Music is the new label from Berlin-based artist, producer and live performer Alexander Kowalski. Opening a new chapter after more than three decades in electronic music, the label reflects a perspective shaped by techno, live performance and a long-standing commitment to sound with depth, atmosphere and emotional weight.

Rooted in techno but reaching beyond pure club functionality, Cycles is dedicated to music that carries a sense of memory, movement and transformation. The label follows the idea that nothing moves in a straight line: sound, like life, unfolds through repetition, variation and return, through phases of tension and release, rupture and renewal.

For Kowalski, this sense of cyclic movement has always been central to his work. It can be traced through echoes of the past, progress through change, responses to shifting times and the ongoing search for new forms of expression. Cycles brings that history into the present, not as nostalgia, but as a foundation for what comes next.

Focused on timeless electronic music, Cycles creates space for records shaped by the club but open to atmosphere, emotion and transformation. It is a label built on continuity, experience and renewal, where past, process and future become part of one ongoing motion.

Damage Music Berlin

Founded by Alexander Kowalski in 2009, Damage Music Berlin is a techno label with a focus on vinyl releases. Beginning with The Heat of the Night, its catalogue includes the Reset / Leaf 43 split with Extrawelt, Dirty Doering’s Loco Remixes featuring Vince Watson, and What’s The Point? with Jake The Rapper. Remixes by Dosem, Ray Kajioka and Psyk also feature across the label’s releases. The Sinee Remixes EP (2026) grew out of a remix contest linked to Kowalski’s online masterclass at SINEE. Winning remixes by SMBR, Sven Köhne and GZI appear on vinyl, with an additional digital remix by Rozengracht.
